Samuel Associates is pleased to welcome Dr. J. Paul de B. Taillon as Senior Academic Advisor. Paul will be leading our Policy Insights Forum and working with our Honourary Fellows to issue publications, organize roundtable discussions and other company-sponsored events. He will also lead our partnerships with policy think‐tanks and government organizations in Canada, the U.S. and abroad.

Paul has a distinguished career spanning over 40 years in academia, the intelligence community and military organizations in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.

He is an adjunct professor at the Royal Military College of Canada, Senior Fellow at the Joint Special Operations University, and a curriculum advisor at the University of Ottawa. He has published over 60 books and articles on national security issues. Paul holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master of Arts in War Studies (Royal Military College of Canada), a Master of Arts in International Affairs (Carleton University) and a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies (U.S. Army War College).

Paul continues to actively serve the defence and security community through his on-going contributions to policy publications and participation in strategic discussions. Paul is an Honorary Colonel of the Canadian Grenadier Guards.
