Northern Ontario’s Road to Defence (NORD) Conference 2024

FedNor’s Northern Ontario’s Road to Defence (NORD) Conference returned to North Bay earlier this month. It was an opportunity for businesses to showcase their products or services to the defence industry and learn about collaborating with defence primes and regional enterprises.

The sessions allowed Northern Ontario businesses to explore opportunities created by Canada’s Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy, which ensures Canadians benefit from defence and security procurement. Attendees also learned from Public Services and Procurement Canada representatives about the recent policies surrounding the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), required perform business in the Defence sector in Canada and the US.

Our Director of Operations and Government Relations, Jonas LeBlanc-Wilmink and Senior Associate Rocky Singh alongside one of our Indigenous partners, Jason Michaud, CEO of Stardust Inc., participated in the event, further highlighting the importance of face-to-face collaboration with regional and indigenous partners seeking to support the defence and security of Canada.
